What’s Eucommia Extract?
Eucommia is an herb that comes from the Chinese rubber tree(Eucommia ulmoides, Cortex Eucommiae Extract) and contains high levels of chlorogenic acid. Chlorogenic acid, also known as 3-car-feoyquinic acid, is a kind of phenylpropane synthesized by plants through the intermediate product of the pentose phosphate pathway (HMS) during aerobic respiration. Research results in recent years have shown that the content of chlorogenic acid in Eucommia ulmoides leaves and bark can be up to 1-5.5. Chlorogenic acid has many pharmacological effects such as choleretic, antibacterial, antiviral, lowering blood pressure, raising white blood cells and exciting the central nervous system. It is important raw materials for industries such as health care products, food, medicine, and cosmetics.
